An non-profit organization. The organization was founded in 2023 with a mission to develop the next generation of tech innovators and cybersecurity experts, especially within underserved communities. With a focus on high school students, we offer a dynamic educational program designed to inspire, educate, and guide young minds toward rewarding careers in the IT and cybersecurity profession. At ITS, we understand that the world is changing rapidly, and the demand for skilled IT and cybersecurity professionals is increasing exponentially. We believe that everyone deserves access to quality education and opportunities to develop their skills, regardless of their background or socioeconomic status.

Information Technology Scholars vision is to bring critical IT and cybersecurity education to underserved communities. Our mission is to reduce existing disparities in the tech field by providing comprehensive and accessible training, promoting career development, and fostering a inclusive and diverse workforce.

Our Purpose

The purpose of Information Technology Scholars is to bridge the digital divide and address the lack of diversity in the IT and cybersecurity field. We exist to  

  • Provide free or low-cost education to underserved communities, ranging from basic computer literacy to advanced certifications.
  • Break down barriers that prevent individuals from accessing opportunities in the tech industry.
  • Cultivate a diverse and inclusive workforce by equipping individuals with the knowledge, skills, and support needed to secure rewarding careers.
  • Empower high school graduates, adults seeking career changes and seniors looking to improve their digital literacy and comprehension learning pathways in technology.
  • Contribute to reducing the gender and racial disparities in the tech field by actively promoting and supporting diversity in our programs.
  • Leverage our founders extensive experience in IT and Cybersecurity to create innovative and effective educational programs.
  • Collaborate with local communities, schools, and industry partners to create a supportive ecosystem for aspiring tech professional from underrepresented backgrounds.

Elected by members, our board of directors hold several industry leadings certifications. These leading professional represent a wide range of organizations around the world. As our board members, they are responsible for:

With over 15 years of experience in public sector IT leadership, Montae holds dual Master's degrees in Cybersecurity and Cybersecurity Management and Policy. Holding several industry certifications His vision and passion for social impact drive ITS's mission to uplift underserved communities through technology education.
